One step closer to that transport!

Hopkins announced about an hour ago that CHOP has received the go-ahead from insurance. So we are just now waiting for the CHOP transport team to get their stuff together, take care of whoever is more critical than Scarlett, and then come for Scarlett. No word yet on an actual time frame. Scarlett is now on Oxygen...

Still waiting for that transport...

Scarlett is handling things pretty well, but Mom and Daddy are a teeny tinesy very little bit frustrated with the fact that the transport process has taken so long.  Apparently CHOP is waiting for a pre-auth from insurance, but insurance says everything's good and no one has contacted them.  What a mess.  Will update further when I know more.

Scarlett "stable," will transfer to CHOP 15 Nov in the A.M.

The current plan is for Scarlett to be transferred up to CHOP from Hopkins in the morning.  Doctors still aren't quite sure what the problem is, and her O2 stats still aren't fantastic, so the current plan is still to have her be further evaluated in Philly.

Scarlett's been admitted to Hopkins.

Today around lunch time Scarlett's O2 stats were in the 60s so Mama decided  (in conjunction with the doctors) that we needed to go to the hospital.  We ended up getting admitted to Hopkins, which honestly has been quite frustrating (she's in an ICU with other kids who may or may not be sick, they stuck her 3 times without getting the IV in, she's not as calm in that type of environment, etc).  The doctors say that everything looks OK, but her O2 stats haven't really stabilized to a "normal" range.  Mommy and Daddy are pushing hard for her to get transferred to CHOP if necessary, but that won't happen until the morning.  The biggest issue right now is that no one knows "what the problem is."  We will update this as soon as we know more.  -Dad.

Nov. 7- Nov. 14, 2011

This week Mon.- Thurs. weren't too exciting.  We did our normal doctor visit (this week we visited the pediatrician) and our normal errands.  Other than that we stayed home and read our books and played.  On Thursday night though Uncle Joe and Aunt Rebekah came to meet Scarlett for the first time!  Scarlett loved meeting her Aunt and Uncle and had a great time with them!  On Saturday we all ventured out to the Maryland State Cross Country meet, in which Aaron's Uncle Dan's team was running.  It was a beautiful day and Uncle Dan's team ended up winning first place!  After the meet we all went and had some pizza at Aaron's cousin's house.  Scarlett enjoyed watching the kids run around.  It won't be long until Scarlett can run and play too!!!

Plumb- "In My Arms"

I love this song, and can't help but think of my beautiful little girl when I hear it!  Mommy and Daddy love you so much Scarlett!!!!!

In My Arms Lyrics
Artist(Band):Plumb

Your baby blues
So full of wonder
Your curly cues
Your contagious smile
And as I watch
You start to grow up
All I can do is hold you tight

Knowing clouds will rage
And storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

Story books full of fairy tales
Of kings and queens and the bluest skies
My heart is torn just in knowing
You'll someday see the truth from lies

When the clouds will rage
And storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

Castles they might crumble
Dreams may not come true
But you are never all alone
Because I will always
Always love you

Clouds will rage
And storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

Oct. 31- Nov. 6 2011

This week wasn't too exciting.  Except for our Dr. visit and Thursday Scarlett and I hung out around the house.  Thursday, I took Scarlett to meet a new friend, Godric.  Godric was born about two months after Scarlett.  Both Scarlett and Godric slept through the visit, but she had a good time on her first "play date".    Another first we had this week was Church.  We went to church for the first time since Scarlett has been on the scene.  She wore an adorable jean dress! (pictured below).  Scarlett really enjoyed all the sights and sounds church had to offer.

Here is Scarlett with her dolly.  She loves to talk and snuggle!
