Feb. 14- Feb 20, 2012

Scarlett has had a pretty good week. She got to celebrate her first Valentine's Day! We also had a Dr. appt. with her pediatrician. He said Scarlett is still having an allergic reaction to mother's milk so we have started her on formula only. We are kinda bummed about it since we would really like her to get all the wonderful benefits of mother's milk, but at least she got 6 months of it! We also saw her cardiologist and had an echo done. This echo was supposed to be a sedated echo, except no one informed me of that so it ended up being a regular one. Scarlett did pretty well for an almost 7 month old who has to lay pretty still. She was very interested in the process and all of the gadgets being used. The Cardiologist said everything is looking really good!
Otherwise Scarlett is doing very well as well. She is rolling like crazy! She has learned that that is a way to get around to things that she wants and uses it as her mode of transportation. She also is trying very hard to sit up from a laying position. She can almost make it, but not quit there yet. She does very well sitting by herself once you help her up though.

February 7, 2012

So since seeing the dr. last week we tried giving Scarlett a special formula to help with her allergy.  She of course wanted NOTHING to do with it.  After just one failed day and feer of a little girl getting dehydrated we came up with another plan of action.  I am cutting all dairy from my diet so that I won't pass anything to her through my milk.  Pray that this works, because I dread the alternative!  On a much happier note, our beautiful Scarlett has two teeth!!!  We first noticed them on Jan. 29th.  They are her two bottom front teeth.  They are very hard to get a glimpse of, but boy are they adorable!  I will try and get a picture to share!

Scarlett is 6 months old!

Scarlett's doctor told us today that she is allergic to proteins in Mother's milk.. Scarlett had been having bloody stools for a while. Apparently she's "OK," but we'll have to switch to a very "special" formula immediately. Other than that, everything has pretty much been status quo. Daddy and Scarlett get special alone time together each weekend when Mommy goes to work. Scarlett also has a sedated echo coming up sometime in the near future. We love you so much honey! -Mom and Dad. P.S.: the beautiful ink drawing Scarlett is holding in the first pic is a gift of textual pointillism from her "Uncle RC." Daddy was a bit teary-eyed upon reception of it; it's a true work of art.
